Description: The DRAW THE LINE! STOP THE SPRAY IN MONTEREY BENEFIT CONCERT (& SILENT AUCTION) is an effort to raise public awareness of the State's plans.

The CDFA aerially sprayed Monterey and Santa Cruz counties in the fall 07 and currently plans to resume aerial pesticide spraying of a chemical concoction every 30-90 days, 9 out of 12 months, for the next 2-10 years.  Aerial applications may begin as soon as August 17, 2008 again in Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties and will expand north to 7 more counties, affecting more than 3 million Californians altogether.

Concerned citizens are pushing for safer alternatives and for a critical review of short- and long-term potential health impacts (over 643 people filed adverse health reports from the fall 07 aerial applications).

On May 25th, 2008, The Growing Edge, a non-profit dedicated to sustainable alternatives in community, education and government, will host a concert to bring awareness to the aerial pesticide spraying planned by the California Department of Food & Agriculture (CDFA) to eradicate the Light Brown Apple Moth on the Central Coast of California.
